Venture capital funds shorten fundraising cycles to under two years
Venture investors warn that faster fundraising timelines may place significant strain on limited partners if capital distributions continue to lag.

Venture capital funds are returning to the market for new capital at an accelerated pace, according to TokenPost. Managing directors and partners at prominent investment firms report that some fund managers are now seeking fresh commitments roughly a year after their previous rounds, cutting traditional timelines nearly in half. [1]
Beezer Clarkson, a managing director at LGT Capital Partners, told TokenPost that some venture funds are seeking capital after about a year, compared to an earlier fundraising interval of two to two and a half years. Clarkson warned that this faster pace may strain limited partners if cash distributions lag behind investments. [1]
Amit Bhatti, a partner at TrueBridge Capital Partners, told TokenPost that 24 to 36 months was the former fundraising norm. Bhatti noted that a cycle of 12 to 18 months is plausible for funds deploying capital especially quickly, describing the shift as a yellow light for the industry. [1]
The accelerated fundraising schedules are driven by larger investment round sizes and some managers increasing fund sizes mid-cycle, TokenPost reported. These shorter intervals represent estimates for specific active funds rather than an industrywide count. [1]
