HarbourVest Partners announced on October 27, 2026, that it has appointed Peter Larsen as managing director and head of infrastructure distribution. Yahoo Finance and Alternative Credit Investor both reported that the Boston based global private markets asset manager made the executive hire to expand its infrastructure platform. [1][8]

The appointment comes as institutional investors increasingly seek to diversify their private markets portfolios with non correlated asset offerings, Yahoo Finance reported. Larsen will oversee the distribution strategy for the infrastructure platform as part of the expansion effort. [1]

HarbourVest Partners is a private equity fund of funds and one of the largest private equity investment managers globally. The firm invests across private equity funds, including venture capital and leveraged buyout funds, as well as directly in operating companies. [10]

The expansion reflects broader growth across private markets infrastructure and asset management strategies. Related infrastructure activity in the market includes Stonepeak completing its acquisition of Chicago Parking Meters from a consortium that included Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, Allianz, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, according to Pulse 2.0.
