Autonomous sidewalk delivery company Serve Robotics announced alongside its third quarter earnings that it is launching a new business division called Physical AI Services. TechCrunch and Mezha.net reported that the company will offer its internal connectivity and data tools to third party businesses building automated hardware. Startup Bedrock Robotics, which develops self driving software for construction equipment, is among the early customers using the offering. [1][4]
The new business unit marks a strategic shift to become a technology vendor for the wider robotics market while continuing its core autonomous delivery operations. TechCrunch reported that the company aims to position its infrastructure as a utility layer for other hardware developers. [1]

It became an independent corporate entity after Uber Technologies acquired Postmates, before going public in 2024.
