FuriosaAI announced on October 29 that it raised 620 million dollars in a Series D funding round in Seoul, South Korea, Jon Peddie reported. Ventureburn, Via TT, and Tokenpost also reported the 620 million dollar raise. The new round values the Korean inference chip startup at nearly 2.9 billion dollars post-money, which is approximately four times its valuation from July 2025, according to Jon Peddie. [1][2][3][4]
The company builds the RNGD inference accelerator, which is currently in mass production, Jon Peddie reported. FuriosaAI plans to produce 20,000 RNGD units in 2026 and more than 40,000 units in 2027. Jon Peddie added that Korean enterprise clients, including LG Group, Upstage, and Samsung SDS, are already running live services on the hardware. [1]
The startup launched its first-generation Vision NPU, branded as Warboy, in 2021 for computer vision tasks, with volume production starting in 2023 through a partnership with Samsung Foundry and ASUS 5. The second-generation RNGD accelerator was unveiled in 2024 using TSMC 5-nanometer process technology and features a proprietary Tensor Contraction Processor architecture 5. The hardware is supported by a software stack including compilers, runtimes, model compressors, and profilers 5. [5]
