Former Palantir executives Andy Elder and Arjun Mathur have launched Dream with 17 million dollars in funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, TechCrunch Venture and TechCrunch both reported. The startup builds artificial intelligence world models specifically designed for the construction industry. [1][2]

According to TechCrunch Venture, Dream trains its models on real physics, construction standards, and more than 100 million square feet of building data gathered from United States permit archives. The model uses this training data similarly to how large language models learn from text. [1]

TechCrunch Venture reported that the founders were former Stanford roommates who studied computer science before working at Palantir for a decade. Elder led product design for an 800 person defense and intelligence software team, while Mathur served as a senior vice president in the commercial practice of the company. [1]

As FTMQ Startups reported earlier, another startup named Dream Labs raised 90 million dollars in seed funding led by B Capital and Kindred Ventures to build foundation models for general purpose robots. [4]
