Elon Musk rebrands SpaceX artificial intelligence unit to SpaceXSI

Elon Musk has announced that he is rebranding his artificial intelligence division from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, Fast Company and Euronews both reported on October 5. Investor's Business Daily and The Independent also reported that the name change replaces the acronym AI with SI, which stands for super intelligence. According to Fast Company, Musk made the announcement on X after a user asked if he would adopt Donald Trump's preferred terminology. Fast Company reported that Trump stated artificial intelligence sounds fake following a September 24 dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Musk posted that there would be no more AI and added that SI is better. [1]

Musk is the chief executive officer and largest shareholder of Tesla and SpaceX. Forbes estimated his net worth to be 1 trillion dollars as of October 2026. Musk previously earned bachelor degrees in physics and economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 before co-founding Zip2 and X.com. [8][10]
