Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has moved its planned initial public offering back by one month to November 2026, SaaStr reported. Anthropic, which was founded in January 2021 by former OpenAI executives Daniela Amodei and Dario Amodei, reached a valuation of $965 billion during its Series H funding round in May 2026. [1][3]
Meanwhile, Meta Platforms added roughly $100 billion to its market capitalization in a single week after shipping its first consumer artificial intelligence product that directly competes with OpenAI's ChatGPT, according to SaaStr. As FTMQ Startups reported earlier, Meta recently released its Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full models, which require a paid subscription to access through the Muse application. [1][5]
The SaaStr report also noted significant funding activity across the technology sector, including a $40 million seed round raised by TypeSafe for Jev, a model that only returns decisions without conversational outputs. Additionally, investment committees voted on funding proposals for Factory at a $5 billion valuation, Legora at $11 billion, and Crusoe at $30.9 billion. [1]
Financial projections highlighted in the SaaStr report show that OpenAI expects its total cash burn through 2030 to reach $278 billion. The massive capital requirements come as venture capital firms and limited partners re-evaluate their investment strategies amid widespread agreement that the current market cycle may be reaching its top.
