Serverless artificial intelligence infrastructure startup Modal Labs announced on October 14 that it raised 750 million dollars in Series D funding, Wowtale reported. Venture firm Accel led the investment round, which placed Modal Labs at a post-money valuation of 15.75 billion dollars. [1]

According to Wowtale, venture firm Kleiner Perkins joined the financing as a new investor. Existing backers including Menlo Ventures, General Catalyst, Redpoint Ventures, Lux Capital, Amplify Partners, and Bain Capital also participated in the transaction. [1]

The company crossed 1 billion dollars in annualized run rate prior to the financing, Wowtale reported. The capital surge comes as competition intensifies among compute infrastructure providers, with Baseten seeking a 13 billion dollar valuation and Fireworks AI raising 1.5 billion dollars in September 2026. [1]
