Singapore-based DayOne Data Centers is pushing ahead with plans for a multibillion-dollar initial public offering in New York, according to The Information. As FTMQ Startups reported earlier, the company has filed to list its shares on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol DODC. [1][7]
The Information reported that the operator is little known to most investors in the United States. However, its core operations are built on business from ByteDance, the parent company of short-form video platform TikTok. [1][6]
DayOne develops and operates hyperscale data centers out of Singapore, as FTMQ Startups previously reported. The planned market debut comes amid shifting market conditions, as Newcomer reported that investors have turned against data center builders because rising interest rates are dampening the artificial intelligence trade. [1][3][7]
The broader data center infrastructure market has also drawn attention from major financial institutions. According to Crowdfund Insider, BlackRock chief executive officer Larry Fink warned on CNBC that imposing a broad pause on data center construction across the United States could trigger an economic recession.
