Stockholm-based Energy-as-a-Service startup Elvy has secured an undisclosed investment from actor and film producer Leonardo DiCaprio, EU-Startups and Sifted reported. The funding forms part of a 1.43 million euro second close of the startup's previously announced round. Elvy also announced the launch of a new customer referral platform. [1][2][3]

EU-Startups reported that the capital injection follows recent revenue growth at the Swedish firm. Elvy focuses on the household energy transition from its headquarters in Stockholm, the capital and largest city of Sweden. [1][4]

The transaction is not the first European EnergyTech investment for DiCaprio, who previously backed German residential solar provider Enpal in 2023, according to EU-Startups. DiCaprio, who founded the film company Appian Way Productions in 2007, established the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 to fund climate action and conservation projects. [1][6]
