New York-based venture capital firm Inspired Capital has held a quick close on 450 million dollars in commitments for its fourth fund. Venture Capital Journal, TechCrunch, and Dealroom all reported the capital raise on October 20, 2026. The new fund brings the early-stage investment firm's total assets under management to nearly 1.4 billion dollars, TechCrunch and Dealroom both reported. [1][3][9]

Inspired Capital was founded in 2019 by Alexa von Tobel and Penny Pritzker, TechCrunch reported. Venture Capital Journal and Yahoo Finance both reported that 10 of the firm's portfolio companies have reached valuations of 1 billion dollars or more. According to WWD, the new fund is betting on creators and artificial intelligence to reshape retail. [1][3][8][10]

Von Tobel dropped out of Harvard Business School to found LearnVest, a fintech company focused on affordable financial planning software. LearnVest was acquired by Northwestern Mutual for nearly 375 million dollars in 2015. [12]

The successful capital raise by the New York firm comes during a concentration of capital on the West Coast. According to TechCrunch, citing PitchBook data, Bay Area firms locked down 55 percent of all new commitments to United States venture funds last year. [3]
