Apple and UK developer Hello Games announced that space exploration and survival crafting game No Man's Sky will launch on iOS devices on October 28, 2026. According to Ars Technica, Digital Foundry, Gematsu, and Wccftech, the release brings the full title to mobile hardware, supported on devices dating back to the iPhone 11 and the third-generation iPad Air. [1][3][4][5]

Gematsu and Wccftech reported that the upcoming mobile release includes a decade of post-launch updates condensed into a file size of under five gigabytes. Ars Technica noted that the game generates procedural galaxies locally on the device from a single seed, allowing players on phones to explore the same universal scale as console and PC players. [1][4][5]

The title originally launched in August 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. Over the past decade, Hello Games expanded distribution to Xbox One in July 2018, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S in November 2020, Nintendo Switch in October 2022, macOS in June 2023, and Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2025. [6][7]

The mobile expansion demonstrates how independent studios can leverage mobile hardware advancements to deliver full console-level software to wider audiences long after initial release. [1][3]
